As the airline has issued a public notice regarding potential delays in arriving and departing of flights from Ahmedabad, travelers can experience some delays on the day of the Cricket World Cup final between Australia and India. The official advisory of Akasa Air airline cited the reason for the potential delay in the airspace closure in the city during the match. Reportedly, the airline also took to social media to inform people of the special circumstances on this day.
The official post of Akasa Air reads, “Due to airspace closure at Ahmedabad on 19th Nov 2023, between 13:15 hrs and 14:10 hrs on account of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 finals, flights arriving and departing from Ahmedabad may experience delays,” Yes, the airspace will remain closed in the city for around an hour from before the start of the match to 10 minutes later of the game starts at 2 pm. Therefore Akasa Air issued an advisory that reads, “Also, in anticipation of heavy road traffic due to fans traveling to the match venue, we recommend that you plan for extra travel time and reach the airport at least 3 hours prior to the departure of your flight”
The airline further advised, “In view of the above, if you choose not to travel due to the above, you may rebook on an alternate available Akasa flight at no additional cost, for travel within the next 7 days, by calling our Akasa Care Centre on +91 9606112131.” India will take on Australia on Sunday at Narendra Modi Stadium formerly Motera Stadium to become the three-time world champion.
