Reportedly, the Kerala government has demanded an investigation after four students’ death in a stampede. Kerala’s Higher Education Minister R Bindu has questioned the principal Secretary of Higher Education and the varsity Vice Chancellor to submit their inquiry information. Other Director General of Police M R Ajith Kumar stated the stampede could have occurred due to sudden rain. He also added,” The sudden showers in the area forced the massive crowd of students to the stampede since all of the students tried to take over from the rainfall”. According to the report, a stampede took place during a music tech festival at the CUSAT in which singer Nikhita Gandhi was performed. In the stampede, four students passed away at the location, two students were in the ICU, and over 50 individuals had severe wounds. The singer said her heartbreak and devastation in a Facebook post. She expressed that the tragic incident happened before she could even leave for the venue for the performance. The postmortem of four dead students will be conducted today at Ernakulam General Hospital, Kalamassery Medical College and their bodies will be handed over to their relatives.
